Our Resident involvement strategy

Get involved with us and have a voice

There are several ways you can get involved to fit in with whatever time you have available:

  • Now and then

Surveys and polls: Fill in surveys (like this one) for us. 5-10 minutes every so often.

Mystery shopper: Tell us about your experience when you report a repair or issue to us. 15-30 minutes when you report something.

Community events: Join local events and activities like neighbourhood walks and fun 1-2 hours every few months.

Have a look at our events calendar for more information.

  • Regular

Readers’ Group: Make sure our newsletters and leaflets are easy to read. 1 hour a month.

Community Gardening Tool Hire Group: Help lend tools to residents to use in their garden. 1-2 hours a week.

Volunteering: There are lots of local groups looking for help. 2-3 hours a week.

Volunteering’s a great way to meet new people, grow your confidence, and give something back to your community.

    Here’s how to get started:

    • Fill in our Volunteer Form
    • We’ll match you to something that suits you
    • We’ll support you all the way — even on your first day!

Volunteering’s open to everyone. All our groups are part of Real Neighbours Wythenshawe, which is locals helping locals.

Community Voice meetings: Pop along to tell us about any problems you’re facing. 1-2 hours a month.

High-Rise Forum: Have your say on living in a high-rise building. 2 hours every 3 months.

  • Behind the scenes

Service inspectors: Check shared areas in and around our buildings, and empty homes. Flexible monthly checks, plus a 2-hour monthly meeting.

Why not become a Service Inspector and help us keep an eye on how we’re doing — from how tidy we’re keeping Wythenshawe to how our services are delivered.

    What you’ll do:

    • Check services like cleaning and grounds work
    • Spot what’s working and what’s not
    • Feed it back to us so we can make a change

    How it’ll help:

    • You’ll help improve your neighbourhood
    • Build new skills and confidence
    • Make a real difference locally

    We’ll help you with:

    • Training a handy checklist
    • ID and any gear you might need
    • Ongoing help and support from our team

Project Group: Help us make our services better. 4 hours a month.

Scrutiny Group: Work with other tenants to recommend ways we can make things better for residents. 4 hours a month.

Help us keep things running right by joining our Scrutiny Group. You’ll look at how we’re doing, suggest ways to improve, and help keep us on our toes.

    Things we’ve recently looked at:

    • Complaints: Making it quicker and clearer
    • Damp and Mould: Getting better at how we deal with it
    • Living Well Fund: More transparent and fairer
    • Grass Cutting and Cleaning: Keeping it consistent
    • Repairs: Checking we’re delivering
    • Customer Hub: Making it easier for people to get help

Read the reports or even better join us – get in touch.

Value for Money Group: Check we get good quality services that are worth the money we pay for them. 2-5 hours, 3 times a year.
